Environmental Commitment as a Foundation for Sustainable Development

We consider environmental stewardship to be a fundamental component of sustainable development and the continuity of our services. Certified under the ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System, we undertake various social responsibility initiatives aimed at fostering environmental awareness in the regions we serve, thereby contributing to the preservation of a sustainable natural environment.

Environmental Sustainability and Climate Policy

We conduct our operations with an emphasis on environmental sustainability to mitigate the ecological impacts arising from our activities. Through the management of energy, water, emissions, and waste, we affirm our commitment to addressing climate change. In this context, we have formalised our Environmental Management Policy and outlined the principles to which we are committed below:

Implementing necessary measures within our operational processes to minimise waste generation at its source,

Ensuring that unavoidable waste is disposed of in an environmentally responsible manner to prevent pollution,

Complying with all applicable legal and regulatory obligations related to our operations,

Maintaining a process of continual improvement in our environmental management system,

Regularly monitoring and controlling the environmental impacts associated with our activities,

Promoting the active participation of employees in all environmental management practices and continuously fostering environmental awareness through diverse initiatives,

Safeguarding the environment and transferring it to future generations in an unspoiled condition.

Social and Environmental Responsibility for a Sustainable Future

We recognise our obligation to align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and to foster environmental awareness within the regions where we operate. Our objective is to support the preservation of natural ecosystems and enhance environmental consciousness across society. In this regard, we implement projects centred on energy efficiency, deliver educational programs to primary school students, and organise waste collection initiatives.

For instance, during Çoruh EDAŞ's Environment Week activities, waste accumulated in riverbeds was collected as part of the “Let Our Rivers Flow Clean” initiative. The plastic bottle caps gathered during the event were donated to the Turkish Spinal Cord Paralytics Association. Similarly, under the slogan “Clean Lake, Clean World,” Fırat EDAŞ personnel participated in environmental cleanup efforts along the shoreline of Hazar Lake in Elazığ.

Furthermore, we collaborate with the General Directorate of Forestry in conducting afforestation and tree-planting projects.
